BILLEBAUDE
Laurent and Baltazar have both been playing in the group Zef since 2002. At the same time, they wanted to create a repertoire of traditional melodies from places that have shaped their lives and where they have lived. Music from Hungary follows Breton songs, music from the Morvan mixes with music from Provence or Gascony, Portugal or Estonia.
Baltazar Montanaro: Violine
Laurent Geoffroy: Akkordeon
DUO NEUS
Mara and Torge played together for the first time in spring 2024 and it was immediately clear that they couldn't stop there. In a very short time, they wrote a lot of tunes and now have a varied concert programme to offer for a full evening of balfolk. Their pieces are all new and written by themselves. Duo Neus plays for dancing as well as for listening -in any case they play with a lot of fire!
Mara Menzel: Diat. Akkordeon, Gesang
Melf Torge Nonn: Klarinette, Sopran Sax, Traverso Flute, Tin Whistle, Diat. Akkordeon
FEATHER AND FOX
Feather and Fox is a Belgo-German cello and mandolin duo. Christiane and Victor met during a Berlin summer on the banks of the river Spree and have been travelling all over Europe's balfolk scene with their delicate music ever since. From the very beginning, the duo plays for dancers and is inspired by their energy; playful and sensitive, they explore the sound possibilities in the interplay of the twelve strings of their instruments and create a unique sound, both feather-light and energy-driven.
Christiane Bisitz – Cello, Gesang
Victor Lekeu – Mandoline, Percussion
AIRBOXES TRIO
Bert Leemans and Guus Herremans have been friends for over a decade, sharing an inexhaustible passion for music. As seasoned musicians, they have built an impressive repertoire together, ranging from captivating dance tunes to intimate listening pieces. Their joint musical journey began shortly after they met, and they quickly gained attention with their new band, both at home and abroad In 2017, Bert and Guus officially joined forces to form Airboxes, a musical project celebrating their deep love for the accordion and pushing the boundaries of traditional accordion music. The two take the audience on a continuous musical exploration, where the magic of acoustic instruments and the boundless creativity of Bert and Guus come together for an unforgettable listening experience. For this occasion they bring along their good friend and string wizard Ward Dhoore and play as a Trio.
